Executive Creative Director, BBC Studios Creative
Our core objective was to create a game-changing, world-class experience that represented the unmistakably British, bold and creative spirit of BBC Studios. To launch the newly merged BBC Worldwide with BBC Studios to their global stakeholders.
The culmination was a unique, two-storey temporary structure, delivered on the shores of Cannes, that will continue to see return on investment as a sustainable exhibition icon for BBC Studios.
The structure, with its recyclable façade comprising of two floors of flexible work and hospitality spaces, was specifically designed to meet the needs of BBC Studios’ growing business as one of the world’s biggest producers and distributors of TV content.
Our award-winning design was modular, transportable and buildable in six days without sacrificing scale or quality. All elements of the build were sourced from raw, recyclable materials making The Pavilion a completely sustainable exhibition space, built for lasting environmental legacy.
Perhaps the most innovative feature of The Pavilion was it’s iconic facade. 10’000 interwoven hand-crafted petals formed the architectural skin of the structure, a dynamic ‘bed of scales’ overlooking the Mediterranean that controlled building opacity and reflected changing light.
